These are aggregate results related to the Assistive Technology Compatibility section of the cognitive Web accessibility assessments.

    WAVE indicates problemmatic or potentially troublesome alternative text with a number of icons. Alternative text is displayed adjacent to images in WAVE. Ensure that the alternative text is equivalent and appropriate.

Guideline 2

  • Form labels.
    <input>, <select>, and <textarea> must have descriptive and informative form labels. Ensure that the form label is descriptive and informative and that all necessary information for completing that form element is available within the label. Groups of checkboxes and radio buttons should have a descriptive fieldset/legend.
  • Of the 15 Web sites to which this guideline applied, 20% met it.

  • Tables and table headers.
    Table headers should adequately describe that column or row.
  • Of the 3 Web sites to which this guideline applied, 0% met it.

Guideline 4

  • Logical heading structure.
  • Of the 20 Web sites to which this guideline applied, 45% met it.

Guideline 5

  • Links make sense out of context (avoid "click here", etc.).
  • Of the 20 Web sites to which this guideline applied, 55% met it.

  • A logical, intuitive reading and navigation order.
    Select the Structure/Order view or Text-only View in WAVE to view the underlying reading/navigation order.
  • Of the 20 Web sites to which this guideline applied, 65% met it.

  • Full keyboard accessibility.

  • Descriptive and informative page titles.
